Hedge planting 2025/26

Hedge planting/creation is at the heart of the Hedgerow Heroes project and we have planted 24km of new mixed native hedgerow since the beginning of the project 5 years ago.

Below is the volunteer hedge planting sign up form for this winter's planting.

We will be adding more sites/dates to this over the next few weeks, including more weekend dates, so keep checking back. We will also announce new sites in our Hedge Bulletin newsletter which you can sign up to here.

We also welcome corporate volunteering requests from Shropshire businesses. Please contact us directly for more information.

Booking form for volunteer hedge planting days

Fill in the form below and select the hedge sites you would like to volunteer for.

Unless otherwise indicated, start time for each site is 10am and we usually finish the session by 1.30pm latest.

It is useful if you can supply your mobile number in case we need to contact you on the day.

We will email you further information/directions a few days in advance of the planting dates you book on to but if you have any questions meantime, ask Sarah on admin@cpreshropshire.org.uk

Creating hedges with CPRE has been so much more than planting trees. I’ve discovered a new community of lovely people, sharing knowledge and ideas, with the common goal of wanting to turn the tide for our declining wildlife. From huge farms to tiny small holdings the sites have been so varied, introducing me to new areas of our lovely county. The greatest personal pleasure has been planting with my 16 year old daughter and this having led to her choice of Environmental Science at A Level. (RM)

While we have always been keen on hedge planting on our land, joining the CPRE Hedgerow project had acted as a catalyst and focused the mind. The best time to plant a hedge or trees is yesterday. Having the support of Sarah, Simon, Lucy to project manage everything. source the super quality plants, canes, guards and organise the volunteers on a particular day means it all just “happens”.
